We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled AOI & X-Ray Engineer to join our client's SMT production team. In this role, you will be responsible for optimizing inspection processes, supporting production through maintenance planning, and ensuring high product quality through data-driven analysis. If you have a strong background in SMT technologies and a passion for continuous improvement, we’d love to hear from you.
Location: Lublin
Work type: On-site
Project duration: 6 months (extension possible)
Responsibilities:
- Configure, calibrate, and maintain AOI machines for pre‑ and post‑reflow inspection
- Develop and refine inspection algorithms to detect abnormalities such as missing components, misalignment, polarity errors, solder bridges, tombstoning, etc.
- Analyze inspection data to minimize false calls and enhance detection sensitivity
- Operate and program AXI systems to inspect hidden solder joints on BGAs, QFNs, THTs, and other bottom‑terminated components
- Identify and classify internal defects: voids, insufficient solder, bridging
- Interpret grayscale X‑ray imagery (2D or 3D/tomosynthesis) and develop criteria for automated defect categorization
- Investigate inspection failures and provide corrective actions in the upstream SMT processes
- Implement feedback loops and root‑cause analysis to drive yield improvements and reduce defect rates
- Compile inspection reports and dashboards; present trends, SPC metrics, and actionable insights to engineering and operations teams
- Support documentation of inspection recipes, calibration procedures, and system maintenance logs
- Provide training and guidance to operators and technicians on AOI/AXI system use and inspection best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or a related technical field
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience programming, configuring, and optimizing AOI and/or AXI systems in SMT/PCB production context
- Proficiency with inspection algorithm programming and machine vision software. Experience with both AOI and X‑Ray systems preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; experience interpreting inspection data to optimize process yield
- Familiarity with IPC inspection standards (e.g., IPC‑A‑610)
- Excellent English language communication skills
If you meet the qualifications and are eager to join a dynamic team at the forefront of automotive technology, we encourage you to apply. We look forward to welcoming you to our team!
