Support global manufacturing teams by solving complex mechanical and thermomechanical production issues and driving robust, long-term engineering improvements.
We usually respond within a day
RSB Automotive Consulting is supporting one of its clients in strengthening the engineering team responsible for global manufacturing operations. We are looking for a Mechanical HW Engineer - Production Support who will help manufacturing facilities investigate and resolve advanced mechanical and thermomechanical production challenges.
The engineer will act as the main technical link between production sites and Product Engineering whenever mechanical concerns arise during manufacturing. The position involves performing initial engineering assessments, coordinating technical investigations, supporting immediate containment measures, and developing corrective actions that improve product durability and manufacturing process stability.
Project start: ASAP
Work type: on-site
Key Responsibilities
Conduct preliminary engineering assessments of production concerns after the initial analysis performed by manufacturing and CPE teams.
Coordinate technical communication between global production locations and Product Engineering.
Investigate manufacturing issues associated with Mechanical strength and integrity, Assembly-related deviations and variability, Structural performance and robustness and Mechanical and thermal connection points
Propose short-term containment measures and determine whether issues should be escalated to process, product design, supplier, or combined investigation teams.
Plan, coordinate, and participate in Design of Experiments activities to identify mechanical factors contributing to product failures
Participate in technical investigations
Analyze how supplier modifications may affect mechanical functionality, interface stability, and product lifetime.
Contribute to structured root cause investigations supported by engineering data, testing results, and systematic problem-solving methods.
Prepare clear technical documentation and present conclusions and proposed actions to international engineering and manufacturing stakeholders.
Ensure that investigation outcomes and lessons learned are reflected in design practices, assembly instructions, DFMEA documentation, and internal engineering standards.
Take part in continuous improvement activities aimed at strengthening product robustness and increasing manufacturing effectiveness.
Responsibilities
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline.
8 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, production engineering, or a comparable area.
Practical knowledge of Mechanical engineering and product design fundamentals, Geometric Dimensioning, Material properties and mechanical behavior
Hands-on experience with failure investigation, root cause identification, and structured engineering problem-solving tools.
Previous involvement in the preparation, coordination, or execution of Design of Experiments.
Ability to convert technical investigation results into realistic improvements for product design and manufacturing processes.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to cooperate effectively across international and cross-functional teams.
Ability to independently organize and manage several technical investigations at the same time.
Support global manufacturing teams by solving complex mechanical and thermomechanical production issues and driving robust, long-term engineering improvements.
