We’re looking for an Injection Molding Specialist to join a highly skilled team driving the development and production of advanced optical components. You'll play a central role in shaping the future of high-performance optics, including aspherical lenses, free-form surfaces, and diffractive structures, serving applications in photonics, sensing, imaging, and precision instrumentation.

Location: Austria, on-site

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and optimize injection molding processes for the production of precision optical components
• Select and monitor optical-grade materials (PMMA, PC, COC/COP) based on thermal, mechanical, and optical requirements
• Manage high-precision mold tooling – analyze mold tolerance, shrinkage, and potential part deformation
• Monitor and fine-tune process parameters including temperature, pressure, and cycle times
• Conduct quality control procedures such as surface inspection, light transmission testing, and statistical process control (SPC)
• Collaborate with design teams to implement Design for Manufacturability
• Support training initiatives and maintain thorough technical documentation related to optical molding processes

Requirements:

• Technical education background – plastics engineering, mechanical engineering, automation, or materials science
• Proven experience in injection molding, preferably in optical or medical applications
• Knowledge of optical polymers (PMMA, PC, COC/COP), including their shrinkage behavior, stability, and optical characteristics
• Skilled in operating and troubleshooting injection molding machines and tooling
• Familiarity with cleanroom operations and contamination control
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and perform tolerance analysis
• Experience with mold-flow simulation, metrology tools, and quality systems (e.g., SPC, interferometry)
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
