Job Specification: Software Validation Engineer
Position Overview
We are seeking a Software Validation Engineer to join our automotive electronics validation team. The engineer will be responsible for defining, reviewing, and executing test specifications according to automotive software development standards (ISO 26262, ASPICE). The role requires strong understanding of electronics, hands-on skills in test bench setup using National Instruments (NI) equipment, and the ability to derive and automate test cases in LabVIEW.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and define test specifications for software implementation and validation activities (SWE.6 level).
- Derive test cases from software and system requirements, ensuring full traceability and coverage.
- Develop and implement automated test procedures using LabVIEW on National Instruments platforms (e.g., PXI-based test benches).
- Build, configure, and maintain NI-based test benches for validation activities.
- Interpret PCB layouts and hardware schematics to design and execute tests that interface with electronic control units (ECUs).
- Perform black-box testing of automotive software, focusing on robustness, error handling, and compliance with specifications.
- Document results, prepare validation reports, and provide feedback to development teams.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- Strong knowledge of automotive software development lifecycle (ASPICE, ISO 26262 preferred).
- Hands-on experience in SWE.1 requirement reviews and test specification definition.
- Solid understanding of electronics principles, PCB schematics, and HW/SW interactions.
- Practical experience with National Instruments hardware (PXI, DAQ, etc.) and LabVIEW programming for test automation.
- Ability to set up and debug automotive test benches (hardware + software integration).
- Experience in test execution, validation, and reporting for embedded systems.
- Problem-solving skills for identifying and simulating hardware/software faults.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Knowledge of LIN, diagnostics (UDS).
- Experience in simulation/emulation of sensors and actuators (temperature, resistance, etc.).
- Familiarity with requirements management tools (e.g., DOORS).
- Basic programming/scripting (Python, C, or similar) for automation beyond LabVIEW.
- Previous experience in lamp or body electronics
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in embedded software validation/testing.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional automotive teams.
- Fluent English (written and spoken);

- Based in Czech Republic / South Poland or available for on-site test bench work.
