About the project:

For our client in Germany, we are looking for an experienced Hardware Engineer with strong expertise in video interfaces and electronic systems integration to support and further develop an existing device platform.

This role is clearly hardware-focused, with software activities serving only as supportive tools for hardware analysis and integration.

Project start: ASAP

Work type: On-site 2–3 days/week

Location: Germany

Responsibilities:

Support, analyze, and further develop existing hardware components within an established device platform
Take technical responsibility for touch user interfaces, interface modules, and electronic components
Work with video interfaces such as HDBaseT, HDMI, and DisplayPort
Conduct feasibility studies and plan/build prototypes, particularly for video data streaming over Ethernet-based systems
Analyze, optimize, and stabilize video electronics and signal paths
Perform functional validation after modifications to existing hardware assemblies
Set up, test, and debug hardware in a laboratory environment and evaluate system-level impacts of changes
Support troubleshooting and system analysis at the hardware-software interface
Use MS Visual Studio, C++, Qt, and Git to adapt and maintain supporting test tools
Perform profiling, debugging, and performance analysis of system data paths and networks
Evaluate the impact of modern video codecs (H.26x, AV1, JPEG-XS) on hardware and data paths (no codec implementation)
