Senior Control Engineer – Power Electronics
📍 Location: Kraków (Hybrid – minimum 3 days/week onsite)
🕒 Type: Full-time
We are looking for a Senior Control Engineer with a strong background in power electronics and control systems design to join our international R&D Client in Kraków. This role focuses on the logical layer of converter systems – from modeling to algorithm implementation. It’s a great opportunity for someone with an electrical or energy engineering background who truly understands what they are controlling.
🔧 What you’ll be doing:
Develop accurate mathematical models of power electronic converters and their control systems using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, PLECS, or PSIM
Design, simulate, and implement control algorithms for converters operating at high current levels
Generate and optimize embedded code (e.g., C/C++) from simulation tools and deploy it on microcontrollers/DSPs
Validate system performance through lab testing and simulation; refine models and control loops based on real-world results
Collaborate closely with electrical, firmware, and system engineers during commissioning and product certification (e.g., EMC, PPAP)
Tune control systems for stable, efficient, and long-term performance
Troubleshoot control-related issues in prototype and production environments
Stay current with trends in power electronics and digital control, bringing new ideas to the table
✅ What we’re looking for:
Proven experience in control system design specifically for power electronics
Hands-on knowledge of PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, and PSIM for simulation and code generation
Familiarity with embedded programming for real-time control deployment
Ability to work independently and lead your own workstreams
Solid understanding of electrical engineering principles – you know the physical systems behind your models
Fluent in English (written and spoken) – team is international
Experience in certification phases (e.g., EMC, PPAP) is a plus
Leadership mindset: not a people manager, but someone who is proactive, accountable, and drives results
💡 Bonus:
Previous experience with product commissioning
Knowledge of energy systems or electrical grid integration is a plus
If you are passionate about advanced control in high-power applications and want to play a key role in shaping next-generation energy technologies, we’d love to hear from you. Join us and work where your models power real innovation.
