Paint Robotics Industrial Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Paint Robotic Industrial Engineer to join our Client's Department. In this role, you will work closely to drive innovation, efficiency, and excellence in paint application processes. You will play a key role in ensuring world-class quality, supporting new projects, leading digital transformation in paint robotics, and training our teams to achieve the highest industry standards.
Location: Flexible – possibility to work from anywhere in the world
Business travel: Extensive international travel required (up to 70% of working time) across Europe, Asia, and America
Employment type: Permanent employment contract with a leading global automotive company
Main Responsibilities:
- Lead industrial projects related to paint robot refurbishment plans and the implementation of new robotic paint lines
- Ensure paint application and robotics commissioning in cooperation with plants and equipment suppliers to meet quality and performance targets
- Support new plant projects by performing path programming (offline/online), defining paint application parameters, and ensuring quality requirements are achieved (color, appearance, film build)
- Contribute to OEE and scrap reduction across plants through optimization projects, path programming transfer, and application quality improvements
- Lead productivity improvement initiatives such as testing and validating new sprayers, improving paint transfer efficiency, and reducing cycle time
- Drive digitalization initiatives in the paint application field (paint application simulation, brush characterization, offline path programming)
- Define optimal paint application parameters according to customer specifications and application tools, while developing standards and conducting training sessions
- Lead internal training programs on paint application (path programming, brush development, process control)
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for paint robotic stations
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field
- Minimum 5 years in paint robotics within the plastics or automotive industry
- Proven experience with Dürr, ABB, or FANUC paint robots, including the ability to develop projects using DXQ3DOnsite, Roboguide, or RobotStudio
- Automotive industry global requirements, IATF16949, and customer-specific requirements.
- Painting robot commissioning, electrostatic paint application, gun and bell application
- Strong coordination in a matrix organization
- Ability to influence and convince
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, results-oriented mindset
- Fluent English required
- German and/or Spanish is a plus
